How to get your products recommended by ChatGPT

ChatGPT recommends products it finds in the sources it trusts when it searches the web: review roundups, Reddit threads, Amazon listings and the brands' own guide pages. To get recommended, find which of those sources it cites for your category, make sure your brand is on them with the same name and claims everywhere, and give it a page of your own that answers the shopper's question in the first paragraph. It takes weeks, not days, and you can measure it.

1.Ask the questions your shoppers ask.

Not "best [category]" only: the use case, the complaint ("that doesn't tear"), the comparison, "on Amazon", "Reddit recommends". Write down who gets named.

2.Collect the sources it cites.

Every answer with web search shows its sources. Count which domains come up most for your category. Those are your targets.

3.Check whether you're on them.

Search each source for your brand. Missing from the top-cited roundup is usually the biggest gap.

4.Fix your own site first.

A guide page per main use case that answers in the first paragraph, a fair comparison page against the brand that's named most, an FAQ, and Product/FAQ structured data.

5.Fix your Amazon listing.

Title and first bullets in the shopper's words, the top complaints answered, and recent reviews through Request a Review or Vine.

6.Get into the roundups.

Pitch the writer of the cited article with a fact sheet and samples. Expect weeks; inclusion is the editor's decision.

7.Show up honestly in communities.

Answer real Reddit threads as the brand, say who you are. Fake posts get found and hurt more than they help.

8.Measure again at day 30.

Same questions, same engines, answer by answer.
